Barbara L. Dreher of the Danville Election Commission in Illinois made the decision to purchase several Brightboard systems to use in each precinct as an aid to the judges instructing new voters how to vote an optical scan ballot. We use the Brightboards in two locations here: at the circulation desk in the library atrium and in the Adult Services area. The circ board is loaded with 16 slides that announce to customers waiting in queue (or seated at tables enjoying our coffee service) the arrival of our new Somali language collection, three new databases, our summer reading programs for kids, teens and adults and other items of note. The board upstairs informs patrons of an upcoming author visit, new arrivals in the fiction area, details on how to obtain a laptop for in-Library use and other valuable services.
